Anyone know about Hawk bikes?

What used to be Graham Read in Nottingham was bought by Cycle King, and sell bikes branded as Hawk.

From what I’ve seen, they’re mostly cheap and cheerful Far East gas pipe stuff.

No, That’s a different lot, these are made in West Germany in the 70 / 80’s…

I’m with it now. Thanks but it has to be a Hawk, ideally a Hawk Escort as they have a rather interesting frame and I think ride really well. I have a “few” small wheeled bikes including a fleet of Raleigh Twentys but I have a plan to adapt another Hawk if I can find one…

I've got a Hawk, but I use it regularly. It looks so bad that nobody would want to steal it. That's my thought anyway. I have a folder sitting on the trailer ready to go to the scrap man tomorrow. I think it's an Elswick.

I'm looking to get a old Raleigh Twenty/Stowaway folding bike to restore but if a Hawk like above comes my way I will also nab it.

Dawes kingpin is also a nice alternative

Original everything except tyres. Which folder thread? I have a “few”….. late 70’s, early 80’s, I think…
