Citroenitis is incurable

Absolute truth, I would genuinely have another Xantia or BX over pretty much any other classic (save perhaps for a G Series 911, but that'll never happen).

I always fancied a Black 3 litre XM. It still looks like what the Batmobile should be.

We had a huge white Citroen CX Safari when I was a teenager. Maybe a bit marmite but we loved it. Had seven seats, super comfortable ride, I remember the steering wheel self centred. It was a 2.5 dtr which I think was the fastest accelerating diesel of its time.

I still really like them - think the non estate version is better looking. I think they managed to recapture the look of the CX in the C6, can see those becoming desirable in a few years. My dad had a long line of Citroens, the little green suspension spheres and bottles of LM fluid were many in our garage!

That’s a shame, never been in one just liked the look. Our CX wasn’t without issues, a couple of head gaskets and the block went porous.

Lots of Citroen memories here, thanks to my Dad- 2CVs through Dianes & on to CX's/GS's and BX's- all great cars in my memory: you can't beat being able to stand up on the back seat with your head out the roof as a seven year old

He also bought a Standard 10 later in life- completely mint. Lovely car, lovely smell- steered like a boat, mind!

I have a hypothesis that a 3litre XM would provide about 90% of the SM experience at approximately 5% of the price and 50% of the heartache.
