Anyone in Belfast - Anniversay Clockwork

i

hmmm.....hmmmm.

hmmm......tempting,but prob too wee....i emailed him anyway.

Its always fun riding around certain parts of Belfast with 'Orange' written all over your bright orange bike....certainly gets the blood flowing anyway...

Hi guys,
Bit of a strange introduction, but I was browsing the site thinking of my heady past mountainbiking, when I found said clockwork. I used to have one, about 96 if my mind works, and destroyed it into the back of a Volvo! After twenty minutes debate, I had to have it! So £140 later, I'm the proud owner! Currently changing tyres for something more appropriate, but sooooo pleased! So if any Irish guys see a tired man on this lovely machine, give me a shout, I've been away too long!

Clockwork

Thats a good buy.

Someone in NI should do the decent thing and set up a Norn Iron branch. There must be quite a few of us lucky enough to live in the greenest corner of these Islands.

:D Ah-ye bugger!that was only a mile away... I offered him £110 and he said he'd take it if the other guy (you) didnt want it....glad it went to a proper retrobiker anyway ;) Bargain!

Welcome to the site! i think there'd be 5 of us from here at a stretch,so it'd be a veerry wee group, but what the hell-go for it!And make sure you dont let it slip to our friends across the water how cheaply retrobikes are over here.ive had a few lucky strikes-including an excellent Cannondale F800 for £60 and a couple of nice Konas for under £30....oh bugger, ive said too much....

Aye we sem to get a good few bargains over here, I recall my atx downhill with boxxers and early hope discs for £400 all in! However the clockwork is a keeper, with a set of rc35s soon...... We should have a norn ireland branch, ironic we have some of the best terrain, and some of the best bargains on our wee isle! :D

That was a bargain at full price - can't believe you got a nother tenner off! Think I will have to have a trip over with a bike bag. Envious!

Yep, well pleased, first impressions have revealed a few fixes needed- pace fork, just to raise the head buy a fraction, and for a little damping. Front and rear mech being upgraded to period xt, and need to find a front mech rapid fire shifter, as the one on the bike has eaten itself, currently restricted to the middle ring! Wanted to ask opinions tho..... paint job has a good few chips, and I'm thinking of running it as is, gives the frame an aged, slightly hardcore look, which I think suits it. Good or bad idea?
