Anyone got any exerience of add on rear racks for sus frames

Re:

i haven't used the one above but i have ordered some for my shop, haven't come in yet though, think they are a while off, but i thought they looked good.

i fitted a Thule rack that was similar when i was in NZ, worked fine but i also had to remove one that had been on for ages, it had some tightening straps that were a nightmare to remove as they sort of seize up with dirt and dust then won't undo.

The beam type racks are not good in my experience, maybe ones from a reputable brand are OK, but I have seen cheap ones break within 100 miles. This was using a load within manufacturers guidlines.

Loading the rear suspension arm isn't a great idea - firstly it bounces the load far more, secondly the suspension goes all haywire with the extra unsprung weight. I would use bikepacking bags instead. Try PlanetX for affordable luggage.

These were tested in the summer by GMBN when Blake went bikepacking

They look to be very good and worked well.

Not keen on the bag route myself as riding with a Camelback in the summer is bad enough let alone a huge rucksack.

I'm planning on a tour next year so I will likely be getting a set of these to use for it. After all if it stayed in one piece for Blake it must be pretty decent.

I dont think the intention is to use them or have the bike loaded up and take on a Fort William rock garden, but mainly to add comfort to yer bum .
Think about it its the frame that would be suspended between the front and rear shock. So less about what the wheels do, and more about rider comfort.
Then you arrive wherever you arrive, take the camping/etc stuff off and you've a nice Esus to go exploring on :?

Its an option really. I so want a good sus but needs to be electric, and i dont want to end up rigid, just for the sake of being able to lug gear about.

Vids good, though he blew it by telling us his Aunt and Uncle run a cider makers  Jealousy factor raised by a factor of fifty
and i was hoping the vid would explain more about the effects on the sus, as Hamster explained.

More food for thought :?
