Anyone got a 1" die for threading a steerer?

Hello all,

A bit of a long shot this... I need to add another 5mm or so onto some new forks I've got. Does anyone have a die (and holder) for a 1" 24tpi thread?

Am happy to pay P&P costs for sending it to me (and back again!).

[By the way, I've tried the local LBSs who want a FORTUNE to do this 10min job.]

dont laugh but have you tried halfords? they were all kitted out with a full monty kit inc this die a few years back,they may do it for a few quid

most local engineering companys will be able to help you out here too.
Ive had it done before and they just handed back the forks to me afterwards and told me not to bother paying as it only took a couple of minutes

Look for a old skool IDB they probably have one. I know a few who have em where you at?

Watch out, thread can not always just be added like that. some threaded
forks have 'rolled' on threads and are hardened, trying to add thread will
result in chips flying off.
