I think they were aiming at making them look like the dials on a motorbike... Yeah coz that's really gonna sell them, not sure if they came with a peg an elastic band and a playing card for the full motorbiker effect...

I think you're right. Shimano also had the C-deck brifters which I've got on a Spesh hybrid but I don't have the dials

Playing card and a peg how ‘trick’. I had to make do with an empty carton of pop wedged against the back tyre!I think they were aiming at making them look like the dials on a motorbike...
