Anyone DIY Hope split ring crown race?

I really like the Hope split ring crown race for installation and removal and was wondering if anyone has made a diy version on other cartridge bearing headsets. I imagine just cutting a crown race with a hack saw and filing the edges clean. What could go wrong?

Yes pretty much always do that on headsets that use cartridge bearings.

Done it on king races in the past. No need for a full race unless its open race or balls imho.

Thought about it but was chicken so bought the tools to install & remove.

I did it today.
Another king base plate as was fitting to a carbon steerer so didn't really want to stress it.

Dremel is all you need.
