With STX it would be no earlier than '94 and without V's probably 94 or 95.
Also don't know if it's just the angle the picture has been taken at but the head angle on that Univega looks a bit steep.

Carl.

Yep 94 or 95 looks about right. The Apex looks like it may have an STX SE (Special Edition) groupset, in which case it's definitely a 1994 model.

STX SE was only available in 1994 and you don't see that much of it around.

The Apex looks to have a paintjob from 93, and I'd have expected it to have mainly LX, around these years, until 96.

So either I'm quite wrong about the paintjob, or that STX wasn't stock.

I was watching this + posted the bike in auction watch and agree Neil. The frame is the same colour and same tubes as the 1992 Axis (In the archive) so a very tidy frame. Possibly renamed and sold with STX to shift some old frames?

I think that Diamond back is an Axis - I've zoomed in on my tablet and the third letter on the top tube decal seems to be an 'i', plus the colours look like an Axis from around 92 / 93, and no Apex I know of around that era used tubing badged as OX - only the Axis models did, Apex used AVR badged tubing then TT-Lite badged tubing, back to AVR badged tubing, then TT-Lite again (I'm thinking 90-97 there, before 90 they used Tange tubing).

sorry it is a Diamond back Axis i was just going on wot the seller told me, and it's STX SE now ive had a really good look at it now and the front mech is a EXAGE
