Anybody else have a Colnago Tandem?

Robvolz

Dirt Disciple
Howdy from the states.

Rumor is, 11 such tandems were build, some have the Mixte style diagonal tubing for rigidity, some do not.

Supposedly, this was build for the 1980 Olympics that the American's eventually boycotted, something about Russia being evil back then.

Mine is stamped #11 on the rear drop out.

This is a pic from the day I picked her up, trading some wine and a bottle of Pappy.

Since then, I've removed the Shimano and modern bits and put proper 3t stem and bars, Panto'd parts and proper campy bits.

Please chime in.

Nice bike, Rob. And an even nicer lady. And probably the nicest champagne bucket I have ever seen. :)

Nice! Are you in Norway?

I'm sure Rob will be along shortly to tell you where to look for the number. ;)

Not in Norway anymore! I brought the tandem back with me to Poland after finding it there. It's a beautiful piece, and I'm excited to start restoring it. 😊

Looking forward to hearing from Rob about where to check for the frame number! Always great to have a bit of guidance from someone in the know. 🚴‍♂️

The reason I asked is because I recognized the Netroh name. It was the house brand of Horten Sykkelsport in (of course) the town of Horten, just south of Oslo.

Yes, you’re absolutely right! Netroh is Horten spelled backward. 😊 It's such a clever touch, and I love how it ties the brand to its origins.
