Hello everybody
Would very much appreciate some input on my Yeti SB66’s linkage?
I bought the bike 2nd hand for a very decent price and took it to my LBS for a tune up.
The eagle eyed tech spotted my Switch Pivot looked dodgy, we did some googling and yes he was right.
He stripped and re-built so it looked correct, finished some other jobs and then let me know ready to collect.
I picked it up and had wheeled it almost back to the car and thought ‘Hey, I’ll ride the last 10m!’…
Turns out no air in the shock so it hyper-compresses, clunks and pushes the switch/pivot into the wrong position again (didn’t realise until home).
The shop apologised and said they’d forgot to put some air back in the shock (busy readying for lockdown!).
But should this have really made a difference? Is the pivot knackered or would the lack of air cause it?
And can I just ride the thing anyway with the pivot in the wrong place? I guess not…
Thanks in advance anyone!
Blue is correct from google images/Grey is mine.
