I am looking to make some decals for my Barracuda (link in my sig) I have the below logo but blue doesn't match my paintwork.

Ideally I would like to change the blue to green- I was hoping there would be some easy way to do it. But I can't find a way.

Maybe Photoshop isn't the best programme? I decided to get rid of all the colour thinking I could start afresh and add colour. But every attempt looked amateurish (to say the least!) Here is the logo sans coleur...

So basically is there an easy way of changing the blue in the top logo to green??

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Use the Black/white logo, copy the image to a second layer.
On the first image do a green to clear gradient fill.
On the second do a yellow to clear gradient fill.
Overlay the 2 layers.
Flatten the image.

You may be able to get it done on a single layer too.

Good simple advice thanks Jerky. I will update with results if anything +ve comes of it

Wow thats quick work- thanks!
Have you done that using Image>Mode>Color chart?
I have had a go that way just now but can't get it quite right.
I have also had the realisation that white is not equal to transparent...

what green are you after?

something a bit rough for you

gimme some time and it could be better

How are you doing that? With layers?
I mess about for ages on Photoshop and can't get anywhere. Now I don't mind messing about but it seems or feels like there should be an easier way of doing stuff...

For instance the Black and White image how to I get it so its Black and transparent? Do I have to 'hand' erase it?

I have searched google and PS tutorials but I can't find quite what I want.

I do it (well some of it) for a living

it's all smoke and mirrors...

seriously though, tht was a very quick and dirty yellow to green fade in a marque selection.

a better way to do it would have been with a mask or two and some careful vector work
