Re: Carless bikes
Hello! I realise this is a very old post but just wanted to say that Carless is my maiden name and G Carless was my Grandad who owned the bike shop in Crewe. It passed to my dad, Derek Carless and was run for many years until bikes went out of fashion and after the 80's recession. It was the family business of Grandad (Graham) and his brother Eric Carless who also had a shop.
I remember Dave Hinde as I was growing up, dad and him made frames and Dave particularly the wheels, my first Saturday job at the age of 4-5 years old was cleaning in between all the spokes of the new wheels, a job for tiny fingers!
I will show dad this post as he would really love to know that some bikes are still around. Dad moved on to four wheels and runs a garage and specialises in Motorsport with my brother. But still he's out on his bikes most weekends even though he's in his early 70's (he won't appreciate me telling you that!)
Any more bikes out there it would be lovely to hear about them!
