Any info on this Dawes?

Well, I sometimes get a bee in my bonnet about misinformation on parts especially when the information is only a beer and a Google away.

I have 11 bicycles, I think I've got enough now but there others like the 1987 Muddy Fox that has just turned up....

Meanwhile, back at the Ponderosa!

I want/ would like/ etc, one of these

Right, cranks are stamped...................FC-B124

Couldn't make anything out on the seatpost apart from 27, some more cleaning and better light may reveal more.

Sakae stem has 87 cast clearly on it near to the bottom of the quill.

Nowt wrong with pointing out when someone is wrong Mark, I assumed wrong and you know what assume makes, as the teacher once told me.

You are firmly in the queue mate but I did sort of offer it to Grannygrinder first.

I am almost definitely going to break this bike, leaving frame/forks, headset, stem/bars, grips, seatpost as a package up for karma.

Dibs on the frame then!

1987 then - starting to look 'old fashioned' already.

Found this on my Google travels:

Awesome Karma!

Anyway having got out my MT60 as soon as you posted, LGF I noticed it is not very clean! So for my part in the MT60 debacle I am sorting that out before I stash it again

Sort of a retro restitution

Also noticing in the pic that the floor needs doing... Aw man... Karma!

Ace frame though, it would kick ass done as a Ranger or a Countryman, I'd go Ranger

did someone say karma ? wheres the que ? mmm bars and stem mmm

I know I’m 9 years or so late to this thread but I’m busy restoring a Dawes Countryman. The original Dawes Countryman had a 10 speed set up with the ranger having 15 speed - the one I’m busy first aiding has all suntour shifters, brakes, gear etc but a 3 ring shimano biopace crank - not sure if there was a run of the countryman’s with 15speed but The whole bike looks untouched - anyway - the version i have is running weinman brakes and all suntour so I’ll start a build page just for nostalgia really. Just a lovely old thing really
