any info on SIMPLEX Gran Sport rear derailleur?

I just bough this piece because I was curious and to lear a little bit about, as I've never seen this Simplex derailleur but also cound't find any info on the net or in any catalog. Looks pretty similar to Record first type from late 50's and early 60's. Does anyone have any clue about it I'll appreaciate it

Never seen a Simplex mech like that before. Is the dropped pivot home made? Disraeli gears has a facebook page so might be an idea to contact him.

I wild guess it's an early version of the Juy Export Model 61 to which Campagnolo took offence and threatened legal action

Yes, it must’ve been a very early Export 61, and what you say seems quite likely …an intriguing mech’ for sure.

Hi there,
I'm the owner . An early Export 61 but I'm affraid could not get too much details... Likely produced somewhere out of France, in a country where Intellectual Property laws were not strict in the 50's-60's... Very rare so maybe a Japanese collector pays a lot of money for it
