The more I look at this frame the bigger the mystery of builder gets for me. It's easier to say it's a one off build by someone we've no clue of than to try and decide on a known maker.
Such a short head tube then fluted down tube, the cable guides and just the overall purposeful look of the frame.

I'm packing it in now cause it's doing me head in....
 
Bit of an old thread, but this came up so my thoughts - any sign of a frame number on the dropouts? It reminds me of a Liyang frame.
Also does the seat post QR offer any clues? That looks like a Trek QR to me. A new photo of the bottom bracket shell so all the numbers can be seen clearly may help.

Yeah cheers for the interest but this frame is long gone now. Don't think I ever worked out what it really was
