For Sale Antonin Magne Dural 'Avionic' 1959 frame randonneur (40mm tyres 700C) SOLD

Zullo

Retro Guru
Thinning out my French aluminium (dural) frame collection. This lovely 1959 Antonin Magne MecaDural in pristine condition. No dents or any damage. Dural frame and forks, suspended bottom bracket (similar to the Thanet Silverlight), seat post, seat collar, headset and bottom bracket (modern square taper) and Pivo bars and stem and CLB retropedal lever all included in price. The rear drop outs are threaded for a modern (or vintage) derailleur.

53cm c to c seat tube, 54cm top tube. This frame has been professionally polished at considerable expense to near factory condition. Beautiful hand cut aluminium lugs.

I've priced this in consideration of it's rarity, and a similar example (damaged) which is on Italian eBay for 500 euro.

It's a true randonneur, with clearance for 40mm tyres, 700C wheels and will build into a show stopping tourer or French city bike. See photos of finished examples. The technology to produce these frames was developed from the French Avionics industry who were at the cutting edge of aluminium bonded tube fuselages.

£700 with the accessories listed above.

Free shipping.

Examples of finished builds and accessories. There are dozens of accessories available for this era of randonneur, from semi hydraulic brakes, 'hammered' finish mudguards, Zeppelin style mudguards, and dual headlamp lighting, to wheel driven speedometers, dynamos and even airhorns. All in duralumin.

Blimey! That beats any contemporary Gravel bike bollox into a cocked hat!

I'm seeing it with 12 speed electronic/disc braking... (Joking!)

Woof!

I'll also include a set of period correct Mafac Dural Forge brakes to fit, with correct straddle wire and fittings.

Thanks for the messages (and likes!), to answer: the wheels are 700c, the headset is French threaded, but the bottom bracket is English (no idea why) the rear dropout will accept a traditional threaded derailleur and clearances are wide.
