Ended cheap. Mike King won DH Worlds in ´92 with a fork like this...

sweet...had those on my Alipinestars Al-Mega, bought new in 94. They were the long travel variant of two. Stanchions extended past the dropouts making Yakima rack fitting a challenge on my car. Cushy though.
