sigh, yet another triangle... apologies.
having always loved these back in the day, it seems right that in the road racing off months, i use something with soul and not another boring carbon frame.

picked this up of fleabay, got it machine polished and then set about raiding the parts bin to get it usable. my Magura's hadn't been used in since Blair came into power, so after a quick service, we were on the road.

my plans are simple (well at least I think they are), run modern components on a classic frame. I'm after a modern 100mm fork and will sort out a decent bar/stem/seatpost combo

thing is, not sure exactly what modern forks would work well, so open to advice from you incredibly knowledgable lot.

after riding this over the winter, i've been thinking about upgrading a few components to be more modern. the main issue is that the magura's produce a nasty front shudder when used, the rim runs true, so not sure what's causing this. Would it be advisable to convert the rear to disc?

also, anyone able to give me some advice on what new forks I could run with? looking for something with a lockout.

cheers all

are the pads striking the rim competely square? which brake is shuddering? both? try some slight toe in and see if that helps.

if you want discs and a modern lockout fork, its going to be a lot easier just to get a new bike. something like a hardtail Giant 29er which are amazing value for money.
