Devout Dirtbag
Another price drop!
My original price I now think reflected how uneasy I am in parting with the bike.
I am now offering it for £575 which hopefully is more realistic.
It is an early 90s fillet brazed Columbus SLX New frame set with beautiful lugged bottom bracket, and matching Columbus fork. The paint job is a great purple/pink/champagne fade with champagne decals - on a sunny day it is stunning.
Frame measurements:
Centre BB to centre toptube 53.5cm
Top tube centre to centre 53.5cm
The paint has rubbed off on the left hand side of the head tube where the cables have rubbed (mostly from it's previous owner). There is no rust on the bike, but there are a few stone chips as you would expect with age.
It has lovely Ritchey dropouts and a little union jack on the top tube.
The bike is built up with all period parts other than the wheels. I had a pair of period Mavics but they died over the winter, so I am selling with a wonderful pair of wheels built by Arup Sen the wheel builder - they have done around 800 miles.

The components range from good condition to NOS (when I put them on this spring).
The full list is below:
Ultegra 8 speed shifters NOS (I have one dura ace shifter in the photos but I will sell with the matching NOS ultegra one.
Ultegra dual pivot brakeset.
Dura Ace cable set.
Dura Ace rear mech, 8 spd, excellent condition - a work of art
Dura Ace front mech
Ultegra 8 speed cassette - was NOS in March
SRAM chain
Ultegra tricolour chainset
Ultegra tricolour BB - NOS in February
Stronglight headset
Wheels - Miche Hubs, Sapin race DB spokes, Mavic Open 4cd rims, 32 hole with radial front lace.
Syncros Stem
3TTT bars
Brooks tape - a little tired but plenty of life left
Syncros seatpost
Flite saddle
Continental tyres
SPD pedals
Does not come with lights or computer shown in images.
I built it up with MTB influences as that is my main interest, hence the syncros bits and the flite.
THIS BIKE IS FAST! It is in great nick, dead straight frame, rigid, very fast frame angles, super quick steering, lively, comfortable and just a little too small for me!
I am 5"8, and I think this would be perfect for somebody 5,5" to 5,7".
It gives a wonderful ride that only high end steel can give, and the quality of the frame build is fantastic. I never get bored of looking at the fillet joints or the lugged bb.
If I could find another next year an inch or so larger I will get one.
If I could afford to I would pay Chas to build me an identical one and spray it the same colour!
However I need the space so I am offering this very quick work of art (in my humble opinion) for £750. NOW £575
The price reflects the overall condition of the parts I have added and the nearly new wheel set made by one of London's best wheel builders.
I have had a shoulder injury so have raised one of the brake levers to ease the pain (from an MTB crash), so a new owner would need to unwrap the bar tape and level them out again. Apart from that she is ready to go.
The bike is in Walthamstow, but I could take it to work if need be in Dalston, East London.
I will try my best to answer any questions
