rBotM Winner
after finalizing my other two ONCE-Replica Project based on a LOOK KG 171 and a Giant TCR (sorry this is a bike junger than 199:cool:

I have started a further Plasitc Probike Replica of this great Spanish Team of the 90s. The base of this project is a bourdeaux coulored
LOOK KG 176. Such a bike has been the Teambike of 1992 ONCE Team.

The bikes were equipped with the mechanic parts of a MAVIC ZAP groupset - regarding that some parts are still missed I start the project
to looking for support and help ind finding this parts eventually. ;)

... so I will show all the parts I had in my stock each part after an other - but first I will list the missing parts

(1) MAVIC Shifter 821 8-Speed
(2) MAVIC hub set 571 (alternativly I had a set of 501)
(3) MAVIC 365 Aero stem 100-120 mm in 22.2 mm
(4) MAVIC rims MACH2 CD2 tubulars
(5) Selle San Marco Rolls in black

Now it's enough - lets have a look to this fantastic frame set in this extraordinary coulour
For my opinion it looks like a "Haute Couture-Version" of a roadbike frame set made by Dior or Chanel

further Progress - now coming to the wheels for the replica

here are the r ms -found in the basement of a good friend
1 pair of MAVIC's MACH2 CD2 tubular Version with 36 holes in NOS

these rims should be the a further step in progress of the legendary tubular rim GP4 - this
are MAVICs first low V-shaped rim and the answer to Campagnolos Omega V-Profile

@altec - your nick is like the French lugged frame sets from Villeurbanne?

You think I should look for a pair of brake calipers in better conditions - the main goal for myself
was to find a set with the origin green brake pads.

The offered KG 191 announced as a ONCE bike - I ve never saw with the Team, the same for KG 281

The Team started in 1989 with green white spanish OTERO steelmade frame sets
than they change to used French lugged LOOKs and KG 196 monocoque frameset
KG 96 in carbon-natural coulouring
KG 176 in burgundy as the frame set of my project
KG 196 in 1992/93 also in burgundy and silver coulouring, later for TT in yellow coulouring
KG 171 in this famous LOOK yellow coulouring but also in 1996-1997 for TdF in pink limited ONCE edition version
some sole riders like A. Zülle also used the Titanium made KG 292 in serveral events

... later in 1998/99 they switched to Mike Burrows Giant TCR "ugly kiddy bikes"

The LOOK KG 131 was a cheaper and heavier version of the KG 171 with a Aluminium fork instead of the steeel shafted Carbon fork

Today not last stage - but the ONCE LOOK KG 176 Replica of 1992 project will come to an end slowly ...

..indeed I think the biggest obstacle has been overcame - here they are
Ladies and Gentlemen - I proudly present
a beautiful set of 2x8-speed MAVIC 821 down tube shifters - in these times they are very very rare

further I found a MAVIC handle bar and a corresponding MAVIC stem too

and missing list of parts can be reduced, and only one part still not found yet
- Selle San Marco Rolls in black (I have a brown one instead, but ...)

and finally the MAVIC 571 8-speed hub set with 36 holes will be substituted by a pair of
MAVIC 501 with 8-speed threaded freewheel

... to be continued
