Another mystery frame.

Nervex head lugs came with a lip around the top and bottom, which is not evident in your photo. Of course it is possible the maker filed the lip off; but it is also possible that your lugs are not actually Nervex. Many makers (Windsor comes to mind) made bikes with imitation Nervex lugs.

These are Nervex.

I have Nervex lugged frames with and without the"lip" you describe. I have heard of Windsor frames but not Windsor lugs.

Roadking.

Interesting. The bottom bracket casting is marked Nervex and what appears to be frame angles?

Sending it off to Mercian to be assessed. We spoke about getting it shot blasted to see what condition it's in under what I think is a hefty coat of cellulose.
Over the phone they didn't dismiss it being a Mercian 'it sounds like one of ours'
If it's okay then it's coming back in a new coat of Enamel Black with enamel Pink seat and down tube bands, and white lettering.

The mish mash of features are still puzzling i.e Nervex, simplex ends, 26.8 seatpost, cantis.

The closest frame on looks and one that used plain gauge 531 so far is a Major Nichols.
The rear detail and timeline coincide
Just contacted Mr Stone to see if he can help.

Condor say it's very likely that it is one of their's after seeing the images and reading about the frame details.

I'll be sending it off to Ellis Briggs for a respray and fitting it out with Shimano parts with guards and Brooks.

Ellis -Briggs don't spray these days, they'll only send it to Bob Jacksons - whose reputation seems to be very variable these days.
