Another LGF dither moment: VW or FIat

A Doblo has huge amounts of space and nooks & crannys for my junk. And I can put bikes in the back.

My Mondeo did 378,000 while only breaking down on me once where it wasnt driveable (drive shaft) but was hideously expensive for parts.

Passat is itching to go wrong - I can feel it...

Go for a Doblo when the Passat has started to go wrong and causing you grief, then - they're not going anywhere.

I say get as much money's worth out of it, and when it starts to cost you, then get rid.

As much as it pains me to put a FIAT before a VW, the practicality is the key.

It is one of the ugliest pieces of **** i've seen for some time though!!

Also remember the trim will all end up in the footwell by the end of your shift. I once removed 9 bits of trim on a FIAT hire car before we left an airport car park once! Only 7 bits would fit back on!!

Lets face it they are rubbish! only pipped at the post by every French car I have ever been in. :roll:

Fiats and just about everything else were in front of my Passat. It was generally stationary and parked up/abandoned on the hard shoulder. I don't get the VW hype.

Slam the Passat into the ground, so it will be (even more) uncomfortable and handle badly as well as being unreliable :twisted:

Seriously? The van with windows is the more practical vehicle for your profession and apparent lifestyle.

you do get a lot in a doblo (my neighbour has one) but it will do nothing for your image no matter who you are.

The VW is much better quality and tbh it will probably out live the doblo even with 138000 on the clock. ... just make sure the VW has no electrical/computer/abs issues before you commit.

check - it already has all those issues....

the drivers seat in mine has lost its sproing, theres a nasty fag burn where a stupid cow threw the cigarette out the window but ended up sitting on instead.


I'm sick of cars. Having to rely on one for a living is no fun whatsoever so I dont care about image, its just a work tool. I dont get any extra income from having a nice car, just a clean one.

I loved cars when I could jump on the bike if the daily wreck wouldnt start. But lack of decent work prospects is leaving me a little grumpy...
