Because of the ratchet ring?
You can seal it to stop it being in contact with the electrolyte.
I’ve done a rear ti-glide before. I’m not doing anymore anodising ever again though!

Thanks rampage that’s encouraging I won’t totally write it off then, end of the day the internal parts of the hub don’t need to look good. Your name has come up a lot regards anodising you where “the” man as far everyone who you did work for was concerned.

Yes, I wasn’t making any money
I make more money being employed so I chose the easy life
I only really had a couple of parts that did have a problem.
I’ve had more problems with other companies anodising parts for me than doing it myself, there’s s company north of Manchester that f**ked up £600 of jig parts I’d made and blamed it on the aluminium. Unfortunately for them they lied to the wrong person.

Thanks all. Numpty question but once all fully polished and smoothed and the boss rivets are out how do I get them replaced?

Replacing the bottle bosses and threads?
I bought the relevant rivnut and helicoil sets so can do it for you if the lots are too pricey for your one job.
