Anjou Velo Vintage

my friend Simon is arranging a ride on this vintage ride and festival as a fund raiser for The PACE Centre charity (they do a wonderful job and help one of my daughters).
The festival weekend will be followed by a vintage ride (supported) cycling back from Saumur to PACE at Aylesbury via Mont St Michel and Cherbourg.

would anyone care to join me, Simon and the other riders already committed to enjoying the smooooooooth tarmac Francais?
I'm in the midst of planning the route back, so if you know of any good hotels or cafes we might stop at on the way, please suggest them!

Are those 2 ladies part of the team????

Or is it you and Simon (or Simone?) relaxing?

Sorry..............

I must admit I have had an interest in this event for a year or two. My daughter lives a couple of hours drive to the North of Anjou and I have in-laws in Bucks.

Hmmmmmm.

Looks brilliant. Will you post a link to justgiving or similar for donations?

Would love to join in but not sure it's possible with sprog on the way.

Good luck,

Johnny

It must be a true vintage event - I believe those 2 chaps are consulting a thing called a map.

I'm booked up that weekend but it does look a good event and as Johnny says post up a donation page or something for us to hand over some cash.
Maybe even a write-up a la EdEdwards?

Mark.

Just realised that it is very close to 'Le Grand Depart' just down the road from here - so perhaps not this year after all.

A week away 'a la france' and then a (very) long weekend TdF'ing probably won't go down very well with Mrs Ned.

And who could blame her!

it is indeed close to the Grand Depart, and the day after we return to Aylesbury will be my youngest's 2nd birthday!
I'll see if this might become a regular thing, and once a Just Giving or similar donation page is in place I'll put that up.
Thank you for the offers of donations, it's very kind indeed.

It is a great event. It's not often you get to combine a sportive on a vintage bike with wine tasting!the bike jumble is good too.Your plan to cycle back sounds brilliant.
