For Sale An unmolested Saba equipe

Futtock

Retro Newbie
Hi all long time lurker first time poster, I have rather fortuitously come across an old Saba equipe that has been left in a loft for the last 40 years. The idea was to restore and ride but I have too many bikes and being 6ft 6 this old girl is just to small.

Thought I would pop it up on here for sale and see if there is any interest, if not I will strip for parts but that would be a shame.

From what I can tell it's from the early 70's and was imported from Italy, it's running a mix of suntour cyclone and campagnolo components, the wheels are 5 speed campag wide flange hubs with fiamme tubs laced onto them. I have a spare rear wheel as well.

Thanks for looking, any questions just ask.

Didnt Phil Edwards import these frames ? Some top riders were on them back in the 70s/80s
I seem to remember that Saba was Caratti’s own brand, so they were built for them, no doubt in Italy where Phil (and more Importantly his rather formidable mum!) had such strong connections?

Apologies for the newbie mistakes. The frame measures 58cm from BB to top of seat tube. I am based in south Oxfordshire and was after £300 with the spare wheel, £250 without.

Had a nother good look round the bike, there are a few scratches on the non drive side of the seat tube, and obviously the original tubular tyres are no longer useable, but other than that it all looks perfectly serviceable.

Cheers

Richard
