What to do if you've always wanted a 1991 Bear Valley rasta, but you only have a 1992 to restore?

Not for the purist and maybe not to everyone's taste. Inspired by the 91 catalogue colours (a deeper green that I liked) I coupled with the 92's paint style instead to fit the bike age. Had to use a bit of artistic freedom on the red front part to balance the look and took inspiration from the 91 Team Marin (black and green one).

This is a full rebuild (not finished yet) but got all the major bits out of the way. Still collecting a few bits, so won't be finished for a little while.

Thanks Nic Porter for the seatpost. Hope it wasn't too hard to find a replacement. Obvious thanks to retrodecals for the amazing work with these. Helped with the tweaks to get it all to work.

Included my original design at the end that set me off down this path.

Looking for an all black crank set if anyone has one going spare? Old biopace would to or LX.

The one that came with the bike is cream crackered but will do for now.

Just a few update pictures. The chain, breaks and have to degrease a shifter to finish now.

Still on the lookout for a black crankset as this set I have touched up for the cameras but is pretty past it.

Looking forward to cruising on this one.

Spray.bike was quite good. I'd use again. Some YouTubers reviewed others.
