after dismantling my single speed work bike (as i'm now walking the 4 miles a day instead), i decided i'd build the Alves single speed, most of the stuff on the work bike was too good really, so thought i would make better use of it!
Mavic 819 tubeless rims on Hope hubs in grey were a good match, and i had a WTB SST 98 stashed with a bit of grey too, so fitted that. the Velosolo spacer kit was gold, red and black, so decided to use that as a theme, i have a few CK headsets so made one out of three!
and courtesy of Haggis from MacRetro, i snagged some Salsa Cromto 29er forks, which jack up the front end more in keeping with how it was meant to be, as it was originally designed to have a long travel fork. the geometry looks much better with the extra fork length.
narrow bars and bar ends, a nine speed chain and it was done, love the contrast of the gloss black fork and stem with the satin grey, works really well!
