Alright guys, tell me about Campag MTB stuff

Hi guys,
As the title suggests, could you tell a Campag duffer about the various mountain groupsets, wheels etc. that campag made, pecking order, prices, years etc etc.
Thanks in advance.
S

Hi fella,

I have the campag brochures which include all the rims/ groupsets etc, give me a shout if you need them, and I will sort them out for you to scan or photocopy/borrow.. ;)

It looked nice but most of it weighed a ton

You're not kidding!
Looking through the 92 catalogue that Si brought round yesterday (cheers dude!) I realised that many of the groups shared the same components- ie shifters are the same in all 3 groups listed. The only difference between Record and Centaur are the rear mech, chainset and cantis. Makes hunting down parts easier I suppose.
Thanks for the help guys. Anyone have a price list?
Cheers

stupid stupid me ignored all the cheap NOS Campag MTB stuff sold on ebay a few years ago.

£24 for a rear mech anyone....?

stupid stupid me.

Me too- been waiting for Record brake levers to turn up for weeks as lots of NOS icarus and centaur pairs have come and gone on ebay. Doh!

I bought the Record gruppo years ago and still ride some of the parts. The brakes were horrible. They didn't stop well at all. I still use the rear deraillers (SP) on two of my bikes and have logged thousands of trouble free miles on them, and would love to buy another if anyone is selling one. The seat post was so heavy you could club a grizzly to death with it. The brake levers are the most beautiful of any MTB lever out there, IMO. The hubs worked great as well. I've got three sets of the Centeur cranks, and love them.

Just looking at the catalogue again it says that seatposts come in alloy or steel dependant on size. The NOS alloy one I have is quite reasonable IMO- not as light as some but it will survive being used by a fat git like me for years!

[checks under desk]

I have a set of boxed, never fitted Euclid brake levers, shifters and brakes

They are beautiful (even if the brake levers are huge!)
