Wanted Alpinestars T24 stem

Tri

Retro Newbie
Hey RetroBIKE community,
maybe someone can help me with my Alpinestars T24 that I am currently rebuilding.
Unfortunately the stem is missing and I'm looking for a replacement. Does anyone know what I can use? I thought a 1" headset stem would fit (according to the internet) but the steerer tube is only 22mm wide. What can I do?

Does anyone have any ideas or maybe a stem to sell?

Looking forward to any news.

Regards

A 1" Ahead should work. I think I ve a Syncros cattoehead, but Maybe fits Better a Controltech or similar

Hi Fatboy1974,

thanks for the reply. Does the 1" stem really fit on the steerer tube (diameter: approx. 23mm).

As far as I know the diameter of 1“ is about 25mm....

Greetings Max

Strange dimension. Effectively, a 1" steerer should be 25.4mm ( 1-1/8 is 28.6mm).
22.2 is the external dimension for quill 1" stems, which fits a 25.4mm steerer ( 22.2mm internally).
BUt I don't know there was some fork with this steerer... You should find for an addapter 22.2 to 25.4 or 28.6 and use an Ahead stem. But you should check taht it's a 22.2mm steerer ( not 23mm).
THis should work if it's 22.2mm. Then you would need to find a 1" ahead stem.

Thanks for the info and the link. It is indeed 22.2 mm, i.e. 7/8".

Before I try the addapter, just another attempt to get an Alpinestars stem.

Does anyone else here have an Alpinestars stem for a T24/26 with a 7/8" steerer to sell?

Greetings Max
