alpinestars cro mega

1992 cro-mega LX had Tange double butted tubing and the DX had True Temper OX II tubing. The 1991 LX had plain guage tubing so maybe that's the one you're thinking of.

These two pictures are of the same frame, in the same decal scheme as the eBay 1992 bike, and it has Plain Gauge tubes so I naturally assumed that was the spec for 1992?

It's original, it's also mine.
Would be interested to see the style of the Tange DB decal used on other '92 Cro-Mega LXs, so I can determine whether this one has just had a PG decal applied by mistake when first painted.

As you can see in the photos above, mine also has a somewhat fancier front mech tab than I've seen on other '92 LXs (it has the A-Star stamped into it, and it's longer with a pointed tip);

This is the same tab on two of sinnett177's 1992 bikes, both Cro-Mega LXs:

I noticed that tab and I've never seen another like that. The Tange decal in the brochure for the 1992 LX frame is this one:

The True Temper sticker was on the DX version.

OK. Seems like a strange one alright.
Just checked the serial on mine and it's C92070506. Maybe it was a very early or very late example.
