My Dad’s bike used for popping to the shops etc. He’s no longer able to ride so I’m clearing out his bikes for him.
He bought this from the original owner back in the mid 90’s and as it was relegated over the years it ended up being stripped down and rebuilt a few times. I was considering a full rebuild for myself but have decided it’s not quite the right thing for me.

1 1/8” threadless headset conversion
Wheels are Ritchey branded hubs with Mavic 317 rims, the wheels have barely been used with virtually no wear to the braking surfaces.
LX cranks (38T single ring), LX rear mech, XT rapid fire and Alivio cantilevers (unfortunately the right hand shifter is temperamental and doesn’t shit upwards every time)

Chunky clipless / flat pedals
The nickel coating is showing signs of surface rust and the lacquer isn’t great. It would made a decent basic retro build, or just a pub bike.
I also have a set of mudguards to go with it (not fitted).
