All things Canadian, fans... So I took apart my 1996 Norco Sasquatch that I've owned since new. Picked up a rebuilt Bomber Z2 Atom 80 and ditched the Judy... I'm torn and would appreciate some feedback. I was thinking of building the steed back with a similar 3x8 that it originally came with but with full XT... Now, I've never experienced a clutch derailleur and have been thinking of trying a 1x11 setup. Also, thinking to kill the 100mm stem and narrow bars and go short stem, wide bar. This will be my workhorse trail bike. Thoughts anyone? Will those modern upgrades add to the experience on xc single track and fire road riding that I mostly do?

Decisions, decisions, decisions...
The stem and bars is easy, go wider, just remember the formula. For each 20mm gained in bar width, subtract 10mm from the stem. This will help to maintain the leverage, keeping steering feel familiar.
I don't have an answer for 1x, can only say that I don't like the look of small front sprocket with large rear cassette
 
Long overdue update on the 97 Norco Mocha MTBMX project. Here is the before and after. Will be posting details in the "Cruiser?" thread with more pics if anyone is interested. The 1996 Sasquatch is still a work in progress and I thank you, MattiThundrrr for your input. Decided to go 1X and purchased a Deore 1X10 drivetrain minus crankset. Wanting to keep my Sugino cranks and finding a 94BCD 5 Bolt chainring in narrow wide in Canada isn't easy. Might have to bite the bullet and import

Nice bikes...But aren't the wheels supposed to be square?
