All things Canadian.....

Is this a thing? In Hawaii it's 'whatever was sold at Walmart in a ditch now covered in rust'.

Nice shop. What titanium frame is hanging on the wall there?

No Ti frame- There's a Marin, a Rocky, a few GT's and a .243 racing. jeesus... what a mess this is embarrassing.

Good grief, this one's good!

Any backstory or build thread?
Hi,

yes, off course!
I bought it last year from a guy named Dave, through a sales platform from Canada.
I had seen the bike on craiglist Canada a few years earlier. That must have been when Mr @Warhorse sold it to Dave. I remember that I contacted the seller on craiglist in that time.

It arriverd at my place in fall 2023 2022. I already had some parts for the build, but still had to find some more. I am still lokking fo a nice and matching seatpost from that era. I'd either like a silver IRD post or a syncros titanium (27.0 mm diameter).

The decals aren't original I had them made after some I saw on another steel rektek.

Unfortunately I don't have a build thread on RBUK, but there is one on a German MTB-forum: https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/rektek-echt-jetzt.969371/

There I gathered some more info on the steely rekteks, as well.

Cheers,
Alex

All things Canadian, hey?! My '89 Norco (freebie, now in commission), and an old Northland lid (same Mike Foligno used to wear when he played for the Sabres!) Can't get more Canadian than that!
