Alien Sticker Mess ....

Well ..... picked away at some of the "offending" stickers and discovered layers of shredded stickers below. Still not decided whether or not to totally strip it down. Stickers were hiding a lot of ugly ......

Weird little bubbles in the paint on the top tube could be felt through all the sticker mess.

Forks I would have liked to use don't have enough steer tube. The ugly thing on there now is just filling space. Only other 1" option I have is a Marzocchi XCR, which is near new, but not at all what I had in mind.

I've also an old switchblade, but it's 1 1/8". Anyone know if using a 1" tube and a shim is possible with the switchblade?

Anyone happen to have a better option to offer :roll:

Sorry to say, but the stickers had to go. Haven't decided how to finish yet. I may just do a quick and dirty respray, but found a coworker who does powdercoat also. I've got the kit pretty much sorted, save for the saddle and grips.

Want some opinions on the fork. Found a guy who had an original one to list on ebay. Unfortunately, he knew I wanted it, so he priced it stupid high. Worse yet, someone else was actually willing to pay his price :x .

I've got a couple of options. One is a switchblade, the other, I think, is a Bontrager. I sorta think the tapered legs of the switchblade fit the frame better. Either way, the Bon's black crown will be used, as it's 1". I actually kind of like the white legs and might use that one either set of legs.

Thoughts?
