Alien Sticker Mess ....

i actually think there is scope for a few more on there. the stays & headtube area look a little bare.

OMG hideous.

Hairdryer is all very well if the stickers were put on last week, in my experience if they've been on 20 years hairdryer will just mean you get hot 3 mm slivers rather than cold.

I used to work in a warehouse where they have a solvent spray for removing stickers, not sure if that would work. Was brilliant, you sprayed sticker and 30 seconds later they just fell off.

I strongly considered leaving them .... there are two issues I'm facing. First, it annoys me to have many other bike brands stickers in the mix ...Trek, Klein, Bon etc. Second, I've got a mix of new and very nice bits to build with and they may seem out of place.

The first is what really gets me ..... he just stuck everything on, even a sticker claiming that it's 6061 alloy. Perhaps I could selectively remove the offenders and replace with something else?

Agreed with NeilM and yourself - other brand stickers are lame, junk those and replace with Powerbar/Tioga/Mint Sauce/Bula... anything else you can find... Maybe we should all rummage around our retro stashes and see what we can contribute!

Ew. Looks a bit busy around the Nishiki logo. Not sure I'd look to replicate his placement of stickers.

I'd remove them all and clean the bike thoroughly. A sticker can cover a flaw. It's an old bike that was probably ridden hard. I'd want to see the entire frame naked and clean. If you want to sticker it up from there fine.

I actually like the paint job on those and would at least want to see the condition the paint job is in before deciding which way to go.

i vote remove the odd offending sticker and clear coat it. :0)

P.s eucalyptus oil is ace on sticky residue especially if you have a cold...
