I should probably start out by saying that I’ve not had as much experience fixing up road bikes as mountain bikes. But this came up on gumtree and for the money I thought I’d give it a go. I don’t know a huge amount about Alan bikes so feel free to chip in with any info you have - a rough model year would be a good start?
I’m thinking late 70’s as a guess..
This bike has been built with a mix of pretty low rent components and the blue tubes have been painted at some point too.
I’ll strip it down and give it a once over, polish the lugs, repaint the tubes and re-assemble with some better components. I have some old Shimano 600 arabesque parts from my single speed converted Koga Miyata knocking around so that’s a pretty good start.
I’ll update the thread as I go, should be fun.
