Hi guys

It's been a few years now since I've been an active member on the forum and I just wanted to say hello again to everyone. I've had a really rough couple of years with work and my wife and father both being diagnosed with brain cancer within months of each other. Before I got married I had started up a car wrapping company which did well for the first 2 years but then back street companies started appearing offering rediculous prices and my profit started to deminish to the point where I was paying bills out of my own savings just to keep going. At the same time, because of the hours I was working and the 2 hours travelling everyday bike riding had become impossible and I decided things had to change ASAP. Fortunately I managed to sell the business on for a price I was happy with and since then my life has been completely different!
I was a bit worried about what I was gonna do for money but within the first week off I'd had several job offers. I start as a self employed contractor for another wrapping company next week on more money than ive ever earned from my own company and finish at 4:30! I'm also reopening my old window tinting firm which got sidelined when I started the new one. My wife has had her tumours removed successfully, my dad is responding well to his treatment and still going strong 7 months in.

The one thing I couldn't get used to though was not having emails in the evening, mad as it sounds. But then I came across the forum again and decided it was time to finally get one of my bikes built up and get back out riding with you again. I've only been back on a couple of days and already I've been chatting away to people about my Manitou FS build and I've bought a Raleigh Ti frame!

Anyway, really really happy to be getting involved again and it's amazing how many members there are now. I'm gonna do my best to get this Raleigh built up ASAP so I can get out riding with you again.

Cheers guys,

Ben :)

Welcome back chap. Good news on the health front and hope the Raleigh turns out well.

Suounds like you've had a very hard time recently.
Bt on the plus side high end Raleigh frames are very underrated. Mine is the only bike I currently own that I would never sell.

Which one do you have?

welcome back, pleased things are on the up for you and your family.there are a few riders local to you in nuneaton and the derby area, you are more than welcome to come out for a spin with us :D

Cool beans Ben, welcome back. I'm in Leicester too, be nice to see that FS one time :D Hope the build goes well and the Manitou can be rescued.

Cheers, guys. It's great to be back on, although now I remember how bloody expensive it is! I've just bought a Raleigh RSP Ti frame that's gonna get built up like the team bikes of the era. I've got a good few of the bits for it already so it shouldn't take me long.

I actually live near Swadlincote now and the trails round here are amazing, so if any of you fancy a ride over this way I'd be more than happy to guide you :D
