I understand put a drop of oil behind the pellet gives it a bit of oomph, but be aware of the fuzz they would love to do someone for firearms charges.

I got jumped by a couple of special branch whilst walking down union st in Aberdeen late one night.Id been out shooting [targets,im an animal lover] near the dee and some bugger had nicked the bag.
I managed to find an old bin bag and had it wrapped up in that.
Not well enough as someone must have reported me :? First thing i knew i was on the ground
Explanation was accepted but they took it and i had to buy a new bag to get it back from the station.I also got a 2nd lecture from the duty SGT and a shed load of hard stares from the constables

I think everyone should be made to shoot a gun, because then you can begin to understand that it can be a sport...i've never shot at a living creature but i've been shooting air rifles and shotguns since i was about 8 or 9

I don't own one at the moment because i'm living in a town so there isn't really the space required. If i moved back out to the country side i'd buy another another either air gun or shotgun in a heart beat.

you can buy longbow blanks from chiltern archery. difficult to make (properly) by all accounts though.
