Advise on opening this Shimano Thumb Shifter to replace cable

They may like cheap...but then they get what they get as a result....a race to the bottom. A "bottom" that modern consumers have no idea there ever was a "top" of.

Im not sure if that ignorance is bliss or just saddening.

It must be said though that a modern deore rf+ shifts faster and stronger than a thumb shifter, and because you'll shift 5x as often, it's probably as reliable - at a lower real world initial cost.
