Got a 92 frame and forks that i am building up.
Any bobdy got any advise on the bottom bracket size, went to local bike shop prices start at £15.99 + £15 for fitting but i buy the BB and it is the wrong size they will not give me a refund.
I will be running 1994 Shimano Deore chainset.

Thanks

There was no just "Deore" in 1994 We had Deore LX (FC-M560 & FC-M563) and Deore XT (FC-M737) Actual model will help but more than likely 68mm shell width.

FC-737/563 will be 107 to 113 axle length (107 is your best bet)
FC-560 will be 113 to 118 (113 being you best bet)

Shimano UN-54 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=17473 would be a good bet to buy, seem to be reasonably light (for what is actually available to buy at a reasonable price) seen claims from 270 to 300+g lol.
It is currently Shimano top of the range Square taper MTB bottom bracket
Tool if you havn't got one is about £6 I would guess.
Large spanner, adjustable wrench needed also ;)

Anyone got one to weigh btw?

Just weighed a UN51 (all my UN54's in frames) 68x118mm at 330+/-gr.
It the UN54 I specifically would like a weight for, they are afaik quite different and shimano moved them to also cover the ground of the UN7x series they stopped making, hence they made them lighter (allegedly).

Though tag the UN51 in to the weight weenie listings at the bottom though :)

EDIT, just weighed my UN-51 but 68x122.5mm.. 342g give are take a gramme.

(added both to listings)

I've fitted 113mm BB's to various konas, never had any problems at all. got them on my bikes listed below, plus others i've owned over the years around '93-'97. 113mm is pretty much the standard.
BUT i have fitted a 118mm one to a few and not had any problems either. My advice is go for the 113mm one
