Hi all

been out of the mtb game for a while and recently i got hold of a tricked out marin mount vision off the bay and i realy like it but i am allitle over heavy for the shock and forks,so i am at a point now where i am thinking do i upgrade the bike more or go more modern?

the reason its not an easy choice for me is because my hearts always been into the older bikes sort of 95 to 2001ish.

heres my bike

You could put a heavier spring on it. Just work out what you need.
Or improve the ride by fitting an air shock/modern air shock 165mm length. You can the set to your weight.

As for the forks, no idea. If spring you may need heavier springs. If air, then tune them up.

Round where yu live though, hardtail will be perfectly fine and a lot lighter than them mount visions.

Personally I would sell the frame and forks and get a nice 1994 Cannondale Killer V frame ;)
 (to be found in > 1997 » MTB For Sale)

I've never owned one, but read various threads on how good these marins are even by today's standards. What don't you like about the forks? I think they would look great on one of my bikes if you ever sell. I could probably rustle up some rebas as a swap if you were interested.
