ABC system brakes

Saw these tonight on a bike. Was dark so could'nt get a good pic. What are these? and what is that green cap for?


I found a spanish site with other ABC system brakes...

Never seen them before, but if I had to guess it looks like they have some sort of mechanism where the pads move horizontally when the brake is applied, on maybe cam or taper which increases the braking force maybe. Like I said it’s just a guess by looking at them.

I seem to remember reading about these in the 90s. I believe they are some kind of ABS system like on cars. I don't know how it works, or if it works. I guess they weren't a success. Never seen these anywhere.
 
I have a very vague recollection of these as being like suntour/pederson SE brakes, but for the front, working as antilock, and not providing extra "braking power" like the SE ones do. Designed to avoid locking the front wheel, which in general is a bad thing, but the way they worked meant that braking was worse than useless, which is a worse thing... :facepalm:
