Two things;

1: the Euro is not a unified currency,

All my european friends all seem to support the british decision, they all wish their politicians would stand up for them too...but yet the EU make it seem like we are pariahs? I wonder how long until the other countries wake up.

A couple of them admitedly just tutted and said it was typical british behaviour of wanting to have their cake and eat it, which i suppose in a sense it is.

I don't like cameron he strikes me a greasy slimeball...i think his decision was the right one, but probably mistimed...he should have at least got a couple of countries on side with him before doing what he did. If two or three european countries had backed him I think he would be hailed as a political genius, but i can see this backfiring on him badly.

I don't know. It could go both ways.

Personally I think it's better to be in the same room so you can see how the game is developing - but it does seem like the game is rather one-sided at the moment. If the bottom falls out of the Germany economy, then Europe is f,,ked.

Personally i think if other nations Norway and Switzerland can go it alone why cant we..£50,000,000 a day has been quoted on how much we pay in to Europe..i dont know how much we get get back...does anyone??

The Italian prime Minister hints "that Germany needs Britain to counter-balance the French influence"..that says alot..

The euro does have different values in different part of the euro zone like the pound has a different value in central London to Dingle, Merseyside...

its called "the dingle" by locals up here.... dunno why, with the preocupation in Liverpool with abbreviating everything (including single syllable words )

One thing I have noticed in Europe, from travelling around pre and post Euro, is that EVERYTHING got more expensive when they brought the euro in. Speaking to friends in Italy a couple of years ago, they reckoned the cost of living had effectively doubled overnight.

Like most things that are one size fits all, on most people they look ridiculous.

I would not believe the figures about what we get "back" there is an awful lot of misinformation about the EU. The problem is with British mebership we look at it in terms of what do we get back, rather than what can we contribute and we simpley do not share the vision of a more intergrated Europe. The Eurospectics cling to the illusion that we will be free and somehow control our own future if only we had all powers back we gave away to brussells. We see Europe as buisness proportition, it is not that at all. I am not surprised EU goverments dislike the U.K government.

With the E.U you are either in or out not half way. I hope the U.K makes up its mind soon and then lives with its decision. That would take political balls though something Cameron lacks and Edd Millipede is still searching for. Corporal Clegg may have some balls but since no one listens to him it doesnot matter.
