Thanks again,I did find a couple of places selling the carriers in a google search earlier,so glad they are available and cheaply,too.
I would,of course be very obliged to see a video and keep it for reference if you are happy to do one.I attached the shifters to a bike today and cabled them up,shifting is OK,but not great and the lefthand shifter won't allow me to access the smallest ring of a triple,so maybe the piece of metal came from that shifter.
I also bought some kitchen degreaser and will start squirting the RX100 shifters later!lol

There's a technique you have to use to get them back together with the correct spring tension and with sanity remaining. I can attempt a video if you like.
