Campagnolo have many old spare parts catalogues on their website. 9-speed pointy Veloce levers are from 1998 it would seem, it's not the same part number, but I'm pretty sure it's a compatible part with the newer ones.

Sigma Sports have them for £2!

There's a technique you have to use to get them back together with the correct spring tension and with sanity remaining. I can attempt a video if you like.

Thanks again,I did find a couple of places selling the carriers in a google search earlier,so glad they are available and cheaply,too.

I would,of course be very obliged to see a video and keep it for reference if you are happy to do one.I attached the shifters to a bike today and cabled them up,shifting is OK,but not great and the lefthand shifter won't allow me to access the smallest ring of a triple,so maybe the piece of metal came from that shifter.

I also bought some kitchen degreaser and will start squirting the RX100 shifters later!lol

Squirted the RX shifters then dismantled as far as the exposed mechanism and thoroughly washed them in white spirit and relubed the ratchets and pawls.

The left hand front mech works silky smooth now in both directions,the right hand shifter works,but is very notchy going up,possibly there is a sticky pawl and hopefully it will improve over time.but is nice and smooth coming back down.This both off the bike with no cables attached.

I've got 105 8 speed STI's on my Favori which only get intermittent usage and they can be a bit sticky after a prolonged non-use period. However, like said above, a good squirt(s) of WD40 and some manipulation soon gets them functioning again. What I do find awkward at first though is the amount of movement necessary to change gear, much more than with my 'modern' 10 speed Ultegra ones.

I think the right hand shifter I have needs stripping and soaking in white spirit for longer I can't see anything out of place or broken.It's not stiff as such,but meeting some resistance as the shifter is moved.

Whether if I get it fixed and fitted to a bike I will find the shifters satisfactory to use or not I will be interested to find out.
