A question about 1.1/4" sized steerers and headtubes

My muddy Fox has one , one of the first upgrades I did was replace the standard headset with a Mavic one (had to be ordered specially and took about a month to arrive if I remember correctly , twas 20+ years ago).Still super smooth today with the Black Gold grease.

Re: A question about 1.1/4" sized steerers and headtube

 was literally just about to post "What Titanium bikes came with 1 1/4" headtubes?"
I can only think of 2 - Alpinestars Ti Mega and Gary Fisher Prometheus Titanium but were there any more?

I have a 2000 Klein Adroit witih the 1 1/4 head tube. It is a pain in the ass, I love the bike but the stem is too long and I have a search on Ebay for over a year looking for a shorter one. 130mm down to 100mm would be perfect.

i have a 90 funk & 92 orange ali elite both 1 1/4" headsets. 1 1/4" was introduced by gary fisher, but lost out in a betamax kind of way to 1 1/8".......... that's about the size of it. think, & i may be wrong, the 1st bike to feature a 1 1/42 hs was the fisher ali front frame with the steel stays bolted on..... can't remember what it was called
