A Pilgrimage to Mt. Tamalpais and the Marin Museum of Bicycling

Great pics, I may get there one day.

I do have the honour of a few parts I donated being part of the Cunningham replica build. ♥️GG'z

They do a swap meet a couple of times a year, I believe.

I missed the last one.

I won't miss the next.

(Famous last words!)

But yeah, Joe sells donated, unwanted (historically speaking) bikes out front (he also posts them on Craigslist pretty often), and they get donations all of the time, which they often sell bits from in order to keep the lights on over there.

It's an excellent establishment run by total legends and friendly volunteers.

What's not to love?

Would love to go to one of those swap meets.....will have to time a USA trip to coincide one day!

Interesting the 2019 Cunningham replica fundraiser, what a nice bunch of people.

Even nicer that the winner of the auction for it turned around and donated it right back to the museum!

Such an amazing thing all around.

Hope you don't mind me posting these pics here, from my visit in 2018.

Fantastic thread, and despicable that I have not yet been to the museum, since I live and grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains, birthplace of so many legendary builders and trails. Which brings me to think that if any of you happen to be in the greater Bay Area at any point that maybe I could try to get us a tour with Rock Lobster and to secondarily show you some of the great single track that must have inspired Keith, Brent, Paul, and others. There seems to be such a larger and more enthusiastic group on retrobike than in the US, and it's a shame the mecca is so far away. But happy to share anything I know about the local trails and lore ( not that it is that much, mind you....). Cheers, all!

@Elfman Oh, I would love that. I'm down in LA but will definitely hit you up the next time I'm heading north...

My first Keyesville is this weekend (spectating, not riding! I'm on dog daddy duty all week), which I'm looking forward to immensely too.

@AHAHAH1966 Thanks for all those!!! I don't mind AT ALL.

I will dump the rest of my photos here at some point, promise. (I keep saying that, I know).
