A Pilgrimage to Mt. Tamalpais and the Marin Museum of Bicycling

I know.

It was really hard not to totally fan out.

And even harder to wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the day!

Not even ripping the pedal clean off my crank on the ride afterwards could ruin it.

Holidayed in SanFransisco a couple of years ago… Mrs Peachy said “we’ve come all the way across the world and you want to go to a *^%#%^%# bike museum?”
That compromise has haunted me ever since.

You mean you went half way across the world and didn't go to the *#@+ bike museum? Wow! That's true love man!

Not to rub it in Peachy, but the town itself is full of nice little bars/pubs, and plenty to do for the wife and kids. Well, plenty enough anyway!

And that part of the state is unbelievably nice to look at, so they wouldn't have exactly been bored pottering about!

Even more so Mill Valley, which has a lovely little Redwood grove park and plenty of shops.

Plus the WTB shop/HQ!

That said, I never would have gotten away with it myself if I hadn't been able to pull the birthday card!

I basically drove 7hrs from LA just to go!

I think the main problem was I’d “made” them hire bikes so we could ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, then get the ferry back… no one told me it (the bridge” would be completely covered in fog for all of August! (That was a fun ride)

My understanding is the GG bridge is covered in fog more often than not!

Next time, rent bikes and take the other bridge up to Fairfax instead!

Surely your boy is the perfect excuse to come back and try it all over again?
