I had a mate who demolished his years old shed and came across a massive white spider in the process (reckoned no sun? :? )
Said to be about 5'' across, maybe more

that just sent shivers down my spine :?

I don't like 'em but I don't like to kill 'em. I'm just brave enough to katch them in a glass and release them right at the end of the garden. Apparently they have a powerful homing instinct.

Slightly early in the year before they start looking for somewhere indoors to see out the winter though. I believe all spiders have a poisonous bite but only two or perhaps three species in this country have the necessary dentistry to penetrate human skin.
