I've been doing little bits to the wahoo over the last few days: new tyres, new bars, adjusting the brakes properly etc. Today it was time to stop putting off the inevitable & have a go at removing the bottom bracket.
when I brought the bike last year the crank & front derailleur were covered in about an inch of dried mud & cow muck, I was convinced the BB was going to need some serious sweat & cursing to get loose... Santa must have been smiling down on me as it came free with only a couple of light taps!
The shell is pretty corroded & the plastic cap behind one of the square taper shafts is knackered so this thing isn't going back in. That means it's time to buy some new stuff!
Anyone on RB want to throw some suggestions at me?
I'm struggling to come up with an idea of what to put back on - I'm thinking I might as well upgrade the cranks while I'm at it & will probably do the rear derailleur as well. Want to keep it 3x7, otherwise open to ideas. (Eg. Keep it square taper or change to hollowtech)
