A brace of townsend trail 531's (was that yuck I heard)

I tend to buy bikes with a big leaning towards the frame materials. At the time the trend in the mags was that the components wear out quick so you will soon need to replace/upgrade them. And with the offer of 531 main tubes against the likes of muddy fox offering plain tube bikes with similar spec at around the same price. So my wife and my self ended up with these.
The only real issue is that the it struggles to take a rear tyre bigger than 1.85-1.90 not a problem for my wife as due to a back problem she does not tend to go on anything much rougher than the camel trail, and I have only been a few places where a bigger rear tyre would have made a big difference.
Now coming up to 23 years old they are looking a bit rough but supprising ly few components have been replaced new pedal's, BB's, Saddle's,seat clamps and gripshift replacing the rear thumb shifters is all the changes needed other than service items. Below are a few pictures taken last easter along with a copy of a photocopy of a mag review.

Cheers Phil
